Quarterly Review - Sort of.

Hey Hey Hey,  we are at the Econolodge in Kimberley (3 out of 5 stars but probably worth the $99 a night) and we are getting ready for bed.  Last swim meet of the summer tomorrow.  On the drive here the Mrs. mentioned that I need to get back on the blog.  Her point was that it has become a kind of family history.  And indeed it has.  So suitably admonished here I am getting back on the horse.

May and June were all about the school year drawing to a close and summer activities starting up.  The kids started swimming with the local swim club, the GF Piranhas.  Originally we weren't go to go to very many swim meets.  But it turns out they are great fun.  And with two kids swimming it is quality family time too.  The parents are expected to volunteer as timers and other such jobs so everyone gets to feel like they are a part of it.  We are definitely hooked.  Summer vacation started with the daughter's birthday party.

The next week we had a visit from mom and Harry.  There was sewing and a swim meet as well as lots of pool side lounging with drinks.  Good times.

Mom had to do timing at the meet.  As always she did a great job.  A true professional.

Mom and Harry left with the daughter in tow.  She went to the coast for a week of sewing class.  The timing was perfect as the second child had his birthday party.  Nothing like 5 seven year old boys to get things really bouncing.

The next day we headed for a hike with the swim club.  It was extreme week so they had a whole bunch of extra activities organized.
Hiking is obviously tough stuff.  Although I have to say, I carried the little one the whole way.  Where the heck is the picture of me toting that tyke around.  Huh, wife, where?

We missed out on the Thursday and Friday as we headed down to the coast to spend some time in New West.  We picked up the girl and spent some time at Birch Bay.  And then it was back to home.  A week of kids being sick and now we are in Kimberley.  Hopefully everything goes well and we have two swimmers in the water tomorrow.

I leave you with a picture of two of the cutest people I know.  love out.

Oh yeah, I also turned forty.  If anyone cares. :p

Birthday Tidings

Okay better late than never.  Here is a little video clip from Kaz's birthday party.  The boy is three and it happened in the blink of an eye.

The Mrs. just semi-scolded me into doing a better job of keeping this up.  It is really a living scrap book and so I must get back on the horse and start it going again.  More for us than anything but for those still along for the ride you are more than welcome.

Love out.

Video season begins.

If you chase the link below you can find the daughter's christmas choir performance. I have edited it for watch ability.  It was orginally half an hour of video and it is down to 5 min.  I hope it is bearable.

Washington Week

So we spent a week in Washington visiting my older sister and her husband recently.  It rocked.  They are living in Yakima which is actually closer to our new house than Vancouver.  Plus it has cheap shopping and gas.  Lots and lots of pluses to visiting.

They are a short walk from tonnes of stuff and they get good weather.  Definitely an outdoor paradise.

You will notice the youngest is just freshly casted here.  In reflection it is so nice to have him back to his old self.  We left that foam soccer ball down there.  The house had tonnes of good toys and the children had an awesome time.  With the food and company and pets we all had a good time.  Plus they had enough rooms that the kids could sleep separately from their parents.  That was amazing.
Unfortunately they have weird gravity down there and my son couldn't seem to stay the right way up.

I am just realising now that we didn't get the dogs and Mia in the big group shot.  Major faux pas.  We will have to remedy that next time we are down.

Not gonna last forever.

So as long as the listing stays up here is the house we are in the process of buying.  Should be an interesting few weeks as the process roles along.  I don't think the link will be up forever but I also don't imagine I will ever come back and fix the link.  The Mrs and I are deep in the thinking process of some serious renovation ideas.  So this blog may evolve into a renovating blog.  Or maybe we will start a new blog.  Who knows.  Maybe gardeneatlive has run its course.  I have definitely lost the thread of this blog over the last year.  So we shall see.

Anyways, thanks for reading as always.  Stay tuned for more news.

Love out.
