Seeking Corporate Sponsorship

So with photos like these we must be eligible for some kind of kickback of government graft program. I mean, come on.
Well we were all pretty happy this evening, as you can tell in the previous pictures. We had all just enjoyed amazing feed, a'la wife. Tonight we started with some chips and the last bit of last years batch of salsa. So good. We definitely need to get on that this weekend. After the chips and salsa the Mrs. set us up with a shepherd's pie type casserole (sliced not mashed potatoes) some rice and a fabulous, home garden sponsored, Greek salad. Everyone cleaned their plate (or had the green peppers and red onion cleaned for them) and left the table satisfied. This didn't preclude some whining for dessert (not on a school night) however it was short lived and not too painful. I was only hit with one "boo" as the battle settled.

Good news, the daughter has managed to secure a small role in the local kids production of "Annie." I was late getting her enrolled but the director happened to make an extra role so there was a spot left over. Another cheque going out tomorrow. Show will happen in late November ( 24th or there abouts) if anyone is interested. Hopefully a Saturday night but I will have more details at a later date. TTFN.

Weiners?

Well that is what I am going to call my son for now. He has managed to misplace the camera. I mean I am sure it was him. I only put the camera in three places and it is not in any of them. He however has this tendancy to play with it. I can imagine it being under his bed or any number of other places I won't figure out until we have another big clean up day. So we are without picture.

We are not however without dinner. I came home to a lovely, miso soup, green salad and shepherd's pie combination. I have great love for my wife and try to express it everyday. She walked downtown and back today and is complaining of a sore belly. Should I mention to her that she is five-six weeks away from b-day and she might want to take it a bit easier. Nope. I'm sure she has that one figured out. Speaking of the big day, things around that are starting to crystallize. The guy who will take over for me while I am on parental leave is someone I know so getting him up to speed shouldn't be too bad. If we can make it through the first three days post pregnancy then after that I am sure I will be fine. Pretty excited about it. Still working on names.

Its about dessert.

Well we were once again treated to an amazing feast at our house. There was a shepherd's pie with a twist. Instead of mashed potatoes there were scalloped potatoes on top. It was a good November meal. The bread down front was a garlic number. Just the right amount and it could be covered in shepherds pie. Double goodness. Sitting to the right of the meal was some coleslaw made with apples. I remember rebelling against apples and raisons in my salad as a kid. However, if your perservere you can get there. My daughter actually picked out a piece of apple specially and said, "apple, yum." She has also gotten in the mushroom one up man ship and wouldn't let her brother have her mushrooms tonight. He was quite put out but she wanted to eat them. It didn't really matter as you will see next.

I had told the kids about the ice cream the last time I went into the store for some mint chocolate chip. They couldn't believe I had bought the candy cane/chocolate crunch ice cream. I plan to go and have me a bowl right now. Mmmmm good.

I think it happened on a Monday

So I am not sure what we had for dinner on Monday night. I sit here wednesday morning wracking my brain but nothing seems to come. Was it leftovers from the shepherds pie? I think that might have been it. Was there something else added in. There must have been. It was after the big run... Well if I had the picture I could take a look but that is still at home on the computer. Man! Just not feeilng brainful. Wait there was Nimono which I didn't end up having any of. But that played in lunch yesterday. Maybe that was it. Nimono, left over shep's pie, and a salad. Yes a green salad which the daughter just went right through. Okay I sticking with that. If there was something else amazing added then it has just slipped through my mind and I apologize. I promise to add the pictures when I have a moment.
okay I missed the rice. but otherwise just as stated.and here is the nimono. Yosh.

Thursday, August 21st

Well this was the day we were supposed to get home. It was nice to wake up in my own bed, even if it was at 3:00 in the am as my daughter began her morning whine. The Jet Lag is still throwing her and I off. Although up by 5:00 and in bed by 9:00 is a pretty good way to live your life. This evening and we were going to have Shepard's Pie but the potatoes got waylayed along the route and we ended up with ground beef and veggies over rice. We also had a lovely green salad with the homemade creamy garlic dressing. Nice lite food for a stomach that is still recovering from four weeks of gluttony. Down below you can see the effects that Jet Lag has had on my son. He is staying up late and then crashing until 10 in the morning. This is him during a mid afternoon nap. My wife found him on the floor. Gotta get those clocks reset.
